From ALAN BARREL to the CUTEC TEAM 2009:

I wanted to write to you ALL – Leaders and the Team, and tell you how much I enjoyed the CUTEC Conference and the Team Dinner last week. It was truly a privilege to be part of the wonderful event you organised and delivered.

As one who speaks at many events around the world, including major international conferences with large attendances, I would like EVERYONE to know that I found the 2009 CUTEC Tech Ventures Conference as professional as ANY I have attended anywhere ( much more than most ) and especially INSPIRING.

It was clear to me that an enormous amount of thought and planning had gone into CUTEC 2009 – long before the action began. The implementation was SUPERB. You have set a very high standard for next year’s team to match!

As a participant, I felt very well supported and sensitively treated – as did all the speakers. And the choice of speakers and topics was excellent.

Having lived in Cambridge for more than forty years, I would not have believed I could enjoy a Conference in the Corn Exchange. It is far from ideal in many ways – you pulled it off – it felt friendly and comfortable the way you set things up.

You all know my passionate belief in the vision of A WORLD WITHOUT BORDERS and EDUCATION WITHOUT BORDERS. Transformational Education is needed to make the progress we need, and that means more student leadership – in the serious business of curriculum and pedagogical development. CUTEC 2009 was a living example of the process of student led activity in practice. You made it happen!

Thanks again for such a wonderful event – and your inspiration and encouragement, as the Next Generation – to those of us getting dusty as we hand over the baton! GREAT JOB!

Sincerely,

Alan Barrell – Entrepreneur in Residence
