How to Get to Cambridge
Cambridge has excellent transport links, by road, rail and air. Here is a brief summary of the transportation options available, along with some useful links, both about travel and general information about the Cambridge Area.
By Road
Cambridge is well served by the M11 and A14. London and the South East are only a short drive away. The A14 provides an excellent link to the M6, M1 and A1 making Cambridge easily accessible from the North and West as well as from the rest of East Anglia.
Parking
Car parking within the Colleges and the City Centre as a whole is limited, however, the Cambridge is equipped with five excellent Park and Ride sites, each located at a corner of the city centre. The Cowley Road site is located to the north of Cambridge and is ideal if you are coming from the A10 or the A14 eastbound. The Babraham Road site is located to the south of Cambridge and if ideal if you are coming into the city from the A1307. The Madingley Road Park & Ride site is located to the west of Cambridge and can be reached by junction 13 (northbound) and 12 (southbound) off M11. The Newmarket Road site is located towards the east of Cambridge and is ideal if you are coming in from the A14 westbound . The Trumpington site is located on the Hauxton Road and can be accessed via a new dedicated access lane from the M11 junction 11.
All the buses from all the Park & Ride sites terminate at the EMMANUEL Street station. From there, you can walk straight towards the main road (2 min), turn left and continue for 3 minutes until you arrive at the University Arms Hotel, located on a corner of the Parker's Peace Park .
