Andrew Marin, PresidentAndrew completed his undergraduate degree at Georgia Institute of Technology and is now in the second year of his PhD in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge where his research focuses on the electrical properties of metal oxide nanowires for hybrid solar cells under the direction of Professor Judith Driscoll. Andrew is passionate about the introduction of new technology into industry and has gained a diverse range of global experiences from working with technology companies in the US and Taiwan. Andrew joined the CUTEC team in October 2008 and is the 2009-2010 CUTEC President. |

Nuno Rocha, Director of OperationsNuno is a Research Associate at the Institute of Metabolic Science from Cambridge University and he is interested in the epidemics of obesity and diabetes. He did his PhD in Cell Biology at The Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam. Previously, he did research in Biophysics at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. He holds a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto, Portugal. Nuno believes that promoting entrepreneurship in the scientific community is key to help bring great ideas generated in research labs to the benefit of mankind. He joined CUTEC in March 2008 as a member of Logistics and is currently the Director of Operations |

Shreyas Mukund, Director of DevelopmentShreyas is a PhD student in interdisciplinary biophysics at the Department of Chemistry and the Hutchison/MRC Research Centre. His research is based on developing analytical nanotechnology to improve the understanding of DNA repair mechanisms and cancer. During his undergraduate course in Natural Sciences, Shreyas developed an interest in technology enterprise when working with Cambridge startups on a research placement in technology management. He has experience in strategy and innovation consulting. |

Theodoros Koutroukides, ChairmanTheo is pursuing his PhD on Schizophrenia biomarkers discovery at the Institute of Biotechnology, Cambridge University. He is currently the Chairman of CUTEC and a member of the Board of Directors at Cambridge Phenomenon Ltd. His first leadership role dates back to 1998, being a military police officer for 2 years in the Cyprus National Guard. In 2003, he completed his Biotechnology BSc at Imperial College, London. For the 5 subsequent years he acquired experience in diverse biomedical technologies through his employment at the White Shark Research Institute in Cape Town, South Africa, and Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, USA. He holds both a USA permanent residency and a EU citizenship. His involvement in international competitive rowing and cycling as well as in the arts is noteworthy. |

Flora Li, Vice President

Flora is a Research Associate in the Electrical Engineering Division at Cambridge University. She completed her Ph.D. in Canada. Her research interest is in the integration of thin film and nano materials for displays, photovoltaics, sensors and bio-medical sensing applications. She also has vast interest in entrepreneurship and technology and innovation management. Her aspiration is to combine her technical background and business interest to bridge the transfer of science and technology into practical/real-life applications.

Arnoud Groen, Vice President

Arnoud is working as a Post-Doctoral researcher at the Cambridge Centre for Proteomics, University of Cambridge. He completed his PhD at the Hubrecht Institute for Developental Biology in Utrecht, The Netherlands and holds a Masters degree in Biology. In between he performed a short fellowship at the EMBL in Grenoble, France. During his PhD he was active for the Genomics Network for Young Scientist (GeNeYouS) and was involved in the initiation and organization of a three days Life Sciences conference.

Daniel Gutmann, Vice President

Daniel pursues Post-Doctoral research into the molecular mechanisms of multi-drug resistance in pathogens and cancers at the Department of Pharmacology. He earned his Bsc in Biochemistry (2004) at Imperial College London followed by a PhD (2008) focusing on structural determination of membrane proteins at the same institution. Daniel has recently joined I-TEAMS, where he coordinates the team's efforts to assess the commercial viability of a novel insect-proof surface coating technology. |

Orsolya received her Master degree in ‘International Relations and Development Studies’ from the ‘Institute for Social and European Studies’ in 2005. Her main areas of focus were Social Policy and the Millennium Development Goals. During the research for her Master’s degree, Orsi undertook volunteer work with the charity ’Peace Child International’ resulting in the drafting of policy documents in collaboration with the Scottish Executive which aimed to promote youth-led development at both governmental and non-governmental level. She has been responsible for the programme management of the Enterprisers and Intraprisers programmes in the last three years at the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, and as such has worked closely with many people starting their own businesses. Orsolya has an interest in entrepreneurship, open innovation and health. |

Leena is a Cambridge Commonwealth scholar pursuing her third year of PhD in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on investigating structural and functional aspects of chemokines using NMR spectroscopy. She holds a bachelors degree in Industrial Biotechnology from Anna University, India. Leena is interested in entrepreneurship and innovation management. She has also worked in the i-Teams analyzing the potential market for an Optometric instrument invented at Addenbrooke's hospital, Cambridge. |

Robert Hoff - CIO
Robert completed a Diploma in Computer Science at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge in 2007. He will commence on the MPhil in Advanced Computer Science in October 2010. He has undergraduate backgrounds in Mathematics, Physics and Electronic Engineering. In-between courses at Cambridge he worked for the Shadow Robot Company on one of the world's most advanced human-form robotic hands. Since 2007 Robert has been the CUTEC CIO responsible for the club’s IT management. He has also been on the organising team of other University of Cambridge entrepreneurial initiatives; the TEDxCam Hackathon and Silicon Valley Comes to Cambridge.
